Dash has been added as a payment option to travel booking site Alternative Airlines thanks to a partnership with payment processor Utrust.

Announced this week, Utrust has partnered with Alternative Airlines, an air travel booking platform connecting over 650 airlines worldwide. According to Utrust CEO Nuno Correia, integrating cryptocurrencies such as Dash significantly cuts down on risk on transacting in what for many can be one of the bigger expenses of the year:
“For business or leisure, flight travel can be expensive with consumers saving for months to afford a trip. Considered a high ticket item, it is imperative that consumers are protected when booking flights. Utrust is providing Alternative Airlines’ customers with the increased security and convenience of cryptocurrency payments, and reducing processing fees, to bring greater transparency and trust to the world of online payments.”
Claiming to be the UK’s fastest-growing travel agency and ranked 93/100 by the Sunday Times’ Tech Track 100 fastest-growing private tech companies in the country, Alternative Airlines accepts a wide variety of payment options and includes a large list of available airlines.
Growing travel options for Dash strengthen its “crypto tourism” use case
Alternative Airlines represents the latest integration expanding options for Dash users to pay for travel. In addition to industry staple CheapAir, Travala integrated Dash for booking lodging last year, and was announced as the official travel partner of Dash Core Group in July, adding a Dash-back discount. XcelTrip similarly added Dash in September of this year, as did major Spanish travel site Destinia a month later for select flights.

Additionally, thanks to Dash’s expansive list of participating merchants around the world, its usefulness for paying for travel is growing as users increasingly have the option to use only one currency to both pay for travel and use it for spending at their destination. The addition of both Android and iOS apps for Discover Dash increase the usefulness of carrying the currency to spend, including in locating ATMs by which one may convert funds to the local currency if needed.
Utrust’s Dash partnership bringing an increasing number of integrations
Utrust’s partnership with Dash has yielded numerous integrations to date in addition to Alternative Airlines. Last month, Dash was added as a payment option for Whow Games thanks to this partnership, adding access to pay with Dash to 9 million users of the platform. Next, IT retailer MoreFrom added Dash thanks to this partnership.
