Global payment processor AloGateway has announced an upcoming partnership with Dash, expanding Dash’s global reach, particularly in Asia.
Announced this week, AloGateway announced an upcoming Dash integration into the platform. This would enable access to Dash on the platform, allowing merchants to hold, send, and receive the currency. The platform currently processes about 100,000 transactions per day, over half of Bitcoin’s current transaction volume.
According to Sherwin Quiambao, CEO of Alogateway, Dash was selected as a partner because of its fast and cheap transactions and the use cases that enables:
“We had a number of reasons for choosing Dash as one of first digital assets we offer on our platform. First, Dash has among the lowest fees and fastest transactions of any blockchain network. Dash also has an active community, particularly in parts of Asia and Europe where we are seeing a lot of potential for growth.”
AloGateway is a full-service merchant solution including multi-currency processing, recurring billing, a comprehensive back office platform, and more.
A key to strong Dash adoption in Asia
The integration into AloGateway facilitates Dash’s expansion into Asian markets, according to Karen Hsu, Head of Growth at integration partner BlockCypher:
“We are looking forward to helping AloGateway expand its adoption of blockchain technology. AloGateway is leading B2B payments in Asia by providing merchants with the choice and flexibility to transact in fiat, Dash and other digital assets such as Bitcoin, Litecoin, Ether.”
Most notably, AloGateway supports China Union Pay, a respected and entrenched payment option in the region. Offering Dash support as well will solidify its place as a major payment option in Asian markets, according to Dash Core CEO Ryan Taylor:
“This is an exciting next step for Dash as AloGateway is already a recognized and well-respected solution for networks like China Union Pay. As one of the largest payment processors in Asia, AloGateway is a key partner for Dash as we look to continue the expansion of our global network, particularly in Asia and other crypto-heavy regions.”
Asia has had a strategic significance in the growth and expansion of cryptocurrencies historically, including major mining operations in China and heavy exchange volume in Korea. Expanding to this region with be crucial to Dash’s growth as a global payments system.
Dash’s merchant adoption is rapidly expanding
Dash use as a payment system has been on the rise. Particularly in Venezuela, which suffers from a national currency and economic crisis, Dash adoption is expanding at a breakneck pace, with nearly 300 merchants accepting Dash already, most of them in the Caracas area. Globally, over 1,300 publicly-listed merchants accept Dash at present, with more added every week.
