Earlier this month, VXLabs published an article about the Jaxx wallet, claiming a security vulnerability in the wallet, allowing a hacker to break the PIN and gain access to the wallet’s private keys. This was followed by rumors that users had lost large amounts of funds. Jaxx maintained that no special vulnerability exists and that no users lost any funds.

I sat down with Jaxx CEO Anthony Di Iorio to talk about the truth of what, if anything, happened with the Jaxx wallet security discussion. We also talked about the balance of ease of use vs. security, hot wallets vs. cold storage, and the prevalence of “fake news” in the cryptocurrency world.
